Established in 2009, The Giving Tree of Denver strives to be a leader in the Colorado medical
recreational marijuana industry. Today, we boast Denver's largest edibles selection, and cater
the particular needs of both Colorado licensed medical marijuana patients and all recreational
adults, 21+, in our safe, comfortable, and friendly environment. In addition to our generous
membership program, we offer a 10% medical discount on every purchase for HIV/AIDS and cancer
patients, veterans, students, and badged marijuana industry staff.
At the Giving Tree, we offer over 60 100% all-organic, soil-grown strains of marijuana, and we pride ourselves on our family-style customer service — something we believe sets us apart from other dispensaries. Our highly knowledgeable and professional staff offer a wealth of information regarding our plethora of marijuana products along with any other questions you might have. We offer an incredible selection of infused items, including, but not limited to, chocolates, cookies, brownies, gummy candies, hard candies, sour candies, candy bars, crackers, granola bars, peanut brittle, breath mints, oral sprays, sodas, iced tea, energy shots, tinctures, lotions, salves, massage oils, bath soak, transdermal patches, wax, shatter, hash oil, prefilled vaporizer cartridges, disposable vaporizers, and all-organic, soil-grown flowers, in order to provide the most meaningful and individualized treatments for the widest spectrum of conditions.
- The recreational marijuana industry is new, exciting, and even a little scary - especially for first timers and those coming from states where marijuana is not legal. This page is here to answer questions and calm any qualms. If you're still confused or concerned, don't hesitate to call us at (303) 477-8888. Are you a medical or recreational dispensary. Both! We've served medical patients since 2009 and recreational adults since 2014 in our co-terminus shop.
- When are you open?
We open at 8AM daily, seven days a week. By law, in Denver county, all sales must be finalized by 10PM. We suggest arriving as early as possible so we can provide you with the absolute best, personal, and in-depth assistance we can.
- Can anyone buy marijuana?
As long as you have a valid ID and are at least 21 years of age, you can shop with us — no need to be a Coloradan! Since we are a dual license store, medical patients will also need to be at least 21. Please ensure your ID is not expired!
- What counts as valid ID?
Any government issued ID will work — Military ID, Driver's License, Passport — It must be valid and non-expired.
- Do you take my information? Will I be put on a list
No. It is illegal for us to copy or store any information regarding you or your identity. You will only need to present an ID at the door to verify your age and when making purchases over seven grams to verify residency.
- What's the difference between medical and
Our medical selection is reserved for Colorado residents who have obtained their Medical Marijuana Card from the State. The main differences between the two sides are taxes and edible regulations. Medical sales are taxed at the regular state sales tax while recreational shoppers must pay a 22% tax on their purchase. Recreational edibles are capped at 100mg of THC per unit, and must be divided into 10mg serving sizes. Medical edibles don't have these dosing requirements — we have a 400mg chocolate bar!
- How much marijuana can I purchase?
If you're from out of state, you can purchase up to seven grams (a quarter ounce) per transaction. If you're a Colorado resident with a Colorado ID, you can purchase up to 28 grams (one ounce).
- How much marijuana can I have on me?
You can carry up to one ounce at a time.
- How many edibles should I eat?
The State of Colorado recommends 10mg of THC as one dose. All recreational edibles will, by law, be dosed in clearly marked 10mg or lower serving sizes. Start with one. You can eat more, but you can't eat less.
- What's the difference between indica and sativa?
Indicas are generally more mellow and relaxing and often offer the most medicinal qualities. They make you feel "stoned." Sativas are generally more uplifiting and cerebral and make you feel "high." Some people like the saying "indica in the couch, sativa clean the house." Don't let this sway you though, if it looks good and smells good, it's going to be good.
- What are concentrates? Wax? Oil? Shatter?
Concentrates are produced by blasting marijuana - either trim, full flower, or whole plant, with a solvent such as butane or CO2. This extracts the cannabinoids from the plant, resulting in a waxy, oily, or glassy product. Concentrates, as their name implies, are very concentrated, ranging from 60% THCa to over 80% THCa. People like concentrates for their strength and flavor.
- What is the difference between THC and THCa?
THCa is the unactivated form of THC, meaning your body can't process it and you can't get high. When you smoke or vaporize marijuana, the THCa converts to THC so you can get high.
- Where can I smoke?
It is still illegal to smoke in public. Cannabis must consumed be on private property.
- How do I pay?
We accept cash and debit cards with PIN. There is also an ATM on site.
- Can you ship me infused products?
No. It is illegal at both the State and Federal level to ship any THC infused products across state lines.
- Can I take my infused products home on the plane or in
No. If there is any THC in the product, it is illegal to remove from the State of Colorado. We do, however, offer some products, that are THC free and legal in all 50 states.
- Are you a medical marijuana doctor?
No. We are a dispensary and only vend marijuana infused products. We are not affiliated with any doctors.
- How do I find you?
